Portugal has several medieval villages, living examples of its past and history.

But few are more beautiful than Marvão, which rises majestically in one of the highest points of the Serra de S. Mamede.

This  location itself  is more than enough for a visit, the immensity of the mountain landscape that this walled village makes it an immensely special destination.

And also special is a walk through the winding alleys between the traditional houses, to reach its Castle and contemplate the scenic panorama.
