North and Douro Valley
Imagine a region so diverse, where the green of the mountains, vineyards and natural parks combine with a rich historical and cultural heritage.
Add the tastes and flavours of an unique gastronomy and some of the best Portuguese wines, all combined with the welcoming art of the Portuguese, and you have found the North of Portugal.
Center of Portugal
The central part of any country usually marks the junction of several different regions, therefore presenting offering a mix of the best that each country has to offer.
The Center of Portugal is no exception. Between the Mountains and the Sea is the ideal place to discover Portugal.
And for nature lovers, its extensive walking trails along lakes, waterfalls and villages that maintain all their traditions and authenticity are another top attraction.
Lisboa and Tagus Valley​
Much more than the city of Lisbon, the region around the capital of Portugal is a real surprise box for visitors. Just 30 minutes away, to the west, are many beaches and coastal cities, such as Cascais, Estoril, some great surfing spots - Guincho - or the magnificent Sintra and the extravagant Quinta da Regaleira. The Arrábida Natural Park, 40 minutes to the south, is a surprise for all visitors.
Alentejo​
Plains as far as the eye can see, dotted with cork oaks, typical villages and the traditional “Montes Alentejanos”. Whitewashed single-storey houses, many still with traditional blue or yellow friezes.
Welcome to Alentejo, where life takes on a slower pace thanks to long, sunny days. Take advantage of that extra time to enjoy some of the most beautiful Atlantic beaches in Europe and the flavours of a healthy and very characteristic cuisine, always accompanied by aromatic wine.
Algarve
The Algarve is Portugal's southernmost region, and one of the most popular vacation destinations in Europe. Blessed with a superb coastline and some of the country's loveliest beaches, the region enjoys hot, dry summers and short, mild winters. Warm sea temperatures and gentle winds add to its allure. The Algarve is a land of contrast, and there is plenty of things to do. The popular and more developed central region offers lively coastal accommodation, nightlife, and some of Portugal's best golf courses.
Farther east, a string of sandbar islands and lagoons form part of a beautiful and protected natural park. Over to the west, one will find a very different Algarve. Wilder and more remote, this is a place to escape the crowds and where surfers seek communion with a restless Atlantic Ocean.
Islands
The archipelago of Madeira consists of two inhabited islands - Madeira and Porto Santo - and two small groups of uninhabited islands that are Natural Reserves - the Desertas and Selvagens.
One of the most beautiful islands in the world, Madeira is a place of unforgettable scents and irresistible flavours - exotic fruit and Madeira Wine are some examples.
